Get ready for our Annual End-Of-Year Celebration, when we'll present our grant for 2016 and celebrate another year of Giving!

The Frederick Giving Project was founded in 2010 by a group of young professionals who wanted to make Frederick a more giving and caring community. We’ve worked together to turn all the small, individual donations each of us are able to make into one great big, collective donation that can have large and lasting impact. Since our founding, we have raised and donated over $45,000 to great local nonprofit organizations.

2011: $8,000 to Cakes for Cause
2012: $6,000 to the Frederick Arts Council
2013: $11,000 to the Animal Welfare League, $1,000 to the Frederick Rescue Mission
2014: $10,000 to Second Chances Garage, $1,000 to Heartly House, $100 to Downtown Frederick Partnership
2015: $7,000 to Woman to Woman Mentoring Program and $3,000 to Downtown Frederick Partnership

We’ve had a huge ripple effect, engaging volunteers and donors to support the nonprofit sector and increase awareness around the great work nonprofits are doing in our community. We’ve had a lot of fun, but all good things have their time.

We are announcing that 2015 will be our final year of grants. Our leadership team voted this fall to close up shop and move on to other concerns and projects. While saddened by the end of an era, the leaders remain excited about continuing to support Frederick County nonprofits in new and different ways.

We are attempting to raise $5,000 to make our final collective donation one that will help one of these great local nonprofits:

Blessings in a Backpack
Humane Society of Frederick County
SHIP (Student Homeless Initiative)
Unschool of Yoga

If you’ve already donated this year, you’ll be receiving an email with information on how to vote for our final grantee. If you have not donated this year, please join our #GivingTuesday campaign and add your dollars and your voice to our last and best grant ever.

Join us for one final blow-out party at our favorite café and bar in town, Café Nola, on December 7, 2015 6pm – 9:30pm. We’ll celebrate all the amazing things we’ve accomplished, announce our final grant and party down to the sweet sounds of Cheshi and Heavy Lights!
